# Leveling System

### Account Levels

All players will start on a level 1 account, leveling up can be done in various ways. Methods of leveling up will include: participating in tournaments, ranked matchmaking, and friendly games. Each Meta Brawl player will have an account that they will be able to level up, earning them rewards along the way. A player's account level will cap out at level 100. Players will be placed against opponents based on their level during friendly games and a mixture of both their level and Elo score during ranked games, this will ensure that players experience a fair matchmaking system.

### Experience Points

Experience Points (or "XP") are the value points used to level up an account. On completion of a match, players will be granted a certain amount of XP for both their account and the Brawler they were playing as. The higher the level of a Brawler or your account is, the more XP is required to reach the next level. The amount of experience points earned in a match is determined by many different variables: The duration of the match, whether the player has won/lost, and a Brawler's in game performance.
